Rachel Steyer focuses on complex class action and disability rights litigation, advocating for systemic accessibility and equity for vulnerable communities. Drawing on her experience across federal courts and public agencies, she brings a global perspective shaped by her work in the Middle East and at the Council on Foreign Relations.
Past Experience
Rachel has litigated complex class actions in the disability rights and access space, helping elderly and disabled individuals achieve improved systemic access in the assisted living industry and against public entities. During law school, she externed with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the California Court of Appeal, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Prior to attending law school, Rachel lived in Amman, Jordan for a year and a half, where she studied Arabic and worked for a local startup founded by a Syrian refugee. She also previously worked at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, D.C.

Achieved injunctive relief addressing systemic ADA access violations in one of the nation’s largest assisted living corporations. The case was the first to seek class certification under Title III of the ADA, paving the way for future systemic impact litigation to improve accessibility and combat discrimination across the assisted living and nursing home industries.
